Collection: Comm. Lorenzo Accomasso, La Morra
For devoted Barolo enthusiasts, the name Accomasso has long been a reverent whisper. From the moment we began exploring the world of fine wine, this winemaking legend has been a fixation, drawing us time and again to the tiny hamlet of Via Annunziata in La Morra.
Each visit is a thrill, as we are welcomed with the latest releases from Cavaliere Accomasso and his grandson, Lorenzo. In 2020, the exceptional yield encouraged the Cavaliere to declassify a part of this Barolo to be early released as Langhe Nebbiolo – a glimpse into the pedigree of this storied estate.
Stepping into the Accomasso estate is akin to stepping into a living, breathing chapter of Barolo history. The mantle has now been passed to Lorenzo, who has been groomed by his proud grandfather since day one, ensuring the Accomasso legacy continues uninterrupted. Though the Cavaliere's famously fiery temperament is still on full display, his passion for the land and his craft is unmistakable, shining through in every bottle that emerges from this hallowed cellar. To experience an Accomasso wine is to commune with the soul of Barolo itself – a profound and transformative journey for any true devotee of this noble grape.
Cavaliere was in recovery of COVID and would not receive us in 2021 but was kind enough to signify his “Rochette” bottle together with our Barolo MGA book.
