Collection: Giuseppe Gorelli, Montalcino

Discovered and hired by the consortium prior graduating from Oenology school, Giuseppe Gorelli, a Montalcino native, had displayed extraordinary talents for winemaking and solid knowledge of Montalcino’s terroir at the age of 18. During his time at the consortium, Giuseppe worked alongside Giulio G

ambelli, the Tuscan giant whose legacy includes Soldera, Biondi Santi and Le Pergola Torte. It was Giuseppe who drove Giulio Gambelli in Montalcino introducing him to every micro-terroir that he knew proficiently.

In 2017, Giuseppe set up his own winery in the Northeast of Montalcino entrusted with 6.3 hectare of vineyards with the help of fellow winemakers. What was considered too cold in the past is now the superior site to develop superb tannin and enjoys prolonged growing seasons without the risk of excess heat. 2018 is his debut vintage.

In the winery, all Sangiovese are fermented spontaneously in Garbelotto cask and stainless steel. The Rosso di Montalcino then proceeds to 50hl cask for 9 months ageing while the Brunello rests for 4 years before releasing.
