Collection: Castrum Roche, La Morra

In 2014, Isacco Costamagna planted his first Nebbiolo vines in the heart of Torriglione, La Morra. Through meticulous expansion, his family vineyard now encompasses 3 hectares. This hallowed ground once bore the medieval name Castrum Roche (Latin for Castello di Roche), facing the storied MGA Rocche dell’Annunziata – where his vines today stand among legendary neighbors: Bartolo Mascarello, Roberto Voerzio, and Lorenzo Accomasso.
His tenure at Barolo’s elite cellars (Trediberri, Accomasso, Luigi Oddero) forged a minimalist philosophy: no herbicides, only essential interventions. Launching Castrum Roche in 2021, his debut Langhe Nebbiolo reveals Barolo-worthy depth.
While his Rosato and Timorasso remain local treasures, collectors and Michelin-starred lists have taken notice. These vibrant, terroir-transparent wines are a prelude to his ultimate crescendo: the 2023 Barolo, slated for 2027 release. We’re privileged to share his journey.
