Giuseppe Gorelli (Azienda Agricola Gorelli) brings decades of Montalcino winemaking heritage to his independent family estate. Guided by traditional low-intervention principles, Gorelli farms high-altitude Sangiovese vines in northern Montalcino to produce wines celebrated for their purity, finesse, and authentic terroir expression.

Rosso di Montalcino 2020 is crafted from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grown on high-elevation parcels at 350–400 meters altitude. Fermented spontaneously with ambient yeasts and macerated on skins for nearly three weeks, it aged for 12 months in neutral large oak casks (botti grandi) to preserve vibrant fresh fruit and energy.

Tasting Profile: Vibrant ruby red color. Generous aromas of fresh red cherries, wild strawberries, blood orange peel, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle floral violet notes. Bright, juicy, and energetic on the palate, combining crunchy red berry flavors with vibrant natural acidity, fine-grained tactile tannins, and a clean, saline mineral finish.

Serve slightly cool at 15–17°C. Excellent paired with pasta al ragù, grilled pork chops, charcuterie, and roasted poultry dishes.

Giuseppe Gorelli, Montalcino

Giuseppe Gorelli, a proud Montalcino native, began showcasing his winemaking talents at just 18, impressing the local consortium and learning from the legendary Giulio Gambelli. In 2017, he took a bold step and established his own winery in Northeast Montalcino, where he now tends to 6.3 hectares of vineyards known for their exceptional tannins and ideal growing conditions. His debut vintage in 2018 reflects his passion, with Sangiovese fermented spontaneously in Garbelotto casks, resulting in Rosso di Montalcino aged for nine months and Brunello for four years. Recently, he declared his first "riserva" from the cool 2019 vintage and shared the exciting news of finding a permanent cantina for his Garbelotto bottis also in the Northewestern Montalcino.
