Alberto Burzi is a rising star in La Morra, crafting authentic, traditional Barolo with deep respect for family history. With meticulous vineyard management and traditional large-cask aging, Alberto creates Nebbiolos of balance, poise, and expressive fruit purity.

Barolo 2021 represents the benchmark classic estate cuvée from the celebrated 2021 vintage—widely regarded as a legendary year across Piedmont for structural intensity and balance. Blended from estate Nebbiolo parcels across La Morra, it undergoes extended maceration and 24–30 months aging in traditional Slavonian oak casks.

Tasting Profile: Bright ruby-garnet. Expressive aromas of ripe red cherry, raspberries, dried rose petals, licorice, and subtle spice. Palate shows classic Barolo character with firm, polished tannins, energetic natural acidity, and a lingering, savory finish of red fruit, leather, and clove.

Serve at 16–18°C. A versatile food wine ideal for roast lamb, mushroom risotto, agnolotti dal plin, or semi-aged cheeses. Approachable now with decanting, with cellaring potential of 15+ years.

Alberto & Caterina Burzi, La Morra

Alberto Burzi's passion for agriculture was ignited by his grandparents, inspiring him to study oenology and take over the family vineyards in 2011. Today, alongside his sister Caterina, the dynamic duo cultivates several prime Barolo parcels, including the esteemed 90-year-old Capalot, employing meticulous viticultural techniques like 'tressage' and cover cropping to produce small, optimally ripe berries. Each wine is refined in Stockinger casks, specially customized for Alberto using steam instead of toast, resulting in wines that boast compelling concentration and an almost ethereal weightlessness. Their unwavering commitment to quality and tradition continues to elevate the family's legacy in the wine world.
