Alberto Burzi represents a dynamic new chapter in traditional Barolo winemaking. Working from their grandmother's old-vine plots in La Morra, Alberto and his sister Caterina handcraft small-batch Nebbiolo focused on vineyard purity, gentle extraction, and extended cask aging.

Barolo "La Serra" 2020 comes from one of La Morra's most prestigious high-altitude single vineyards (~380–400 meters). The poor calcareous marl soils of La Serra yield Barolos famous for their ethereal aromatics and crystalline structure. Aged for over 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks, it exemplifies pure site expression.

Tasting Profile: Pale garnet with brilliant clarity. Captivating bouquet of crushed violets, fresh wild strawberry, red cherry, mint, and white truffle. Silky and graceful on the palate, offering refined tannins, bright limestone acidity, and a long, perfumed finish defined by floral elegance and chalky minerality.

Best served at 16–18°C in generous Barolo glasses. Pair with roasted pigeon, duck breast with cherry reduction, mushroom tagliatelle, or delicate veal dishes. Cellar for 10–18+ years.

Alberto & Caterina Burzi, La Morra

Alberto Burzi's passion for agriculture was ignited by his grandparents, inspiring him to study oenology and take over the family vineyards in 2011. Today, alongside his sister Caterina, the dynamic duo cultivates several prime Barolo parcels, including the esteemed 90-year-old Capalot, employing meticulous viticultural techniques like 'tressage' and cover cropping to produce small, optimally ripe berries. Each wine is refined in Stockinger casks, specially customized for Alberto using steam instead of toast, resulting in wines that boast compelling concentration and an almost ethereal weightlessness. Their unwavering commitment to quality and tradition continues to elevate the family's legacy in the wine world.
