Cascina Lieto in Castiglione Tinella, Piedmont, is led by Rie and Hiroto Sasaki, who farm native varieties organically with deep reverence for natural balance. Their singular winemaking combines traditional Italian roots with meticulous Japanese craft and minimal intervention.

Vino Bianco Dolce "Cado" Solera 2019–2023 is an extraordinary sweet white wine crafted using a fractional solera system blending ripe, late-harvested Moscato Bianco across five consecutive vintages (2019–2023). This multi-vintage approach imbues the wine with harmonious depth and oxidative nuance while preserving vibrant freshness.

Tasting Profile: Brilliant amber-copper color. Enticing aromas of honeyed figs, orange marmalade, dried dates, white flowers, and toasted hazelnut. Decadently sweet on the entry yet effortlessly lifted by bright natural acidity, leading to a long, clean, balancing finish.

Serve chilled (8–10°C) in a dessert glass. A sublime match for blue cheeses, foie gras, fruit tarts, egg tarts, or enjoyed on its own as a meditation wine.

Cascina Lieto, Castiglione Tinella

Founded in 2018 by Japanese couple Rie and Hiroto Sasaki, Cascina Lieto is nestled in Castiglione Tinella, bridging Piedmont’s Langhe and Asti regions. Hiroto, a wine veteran in Italy since 1997, combines his expertise with an old estate featuring 50-year-old Moscato vines, supplemented by rented plots in Madonna di Como for Freisa, Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Cortese. From their humble 600-bottle debut in 2018 to today’s 4,000-bottle output, their meticulous, intuitive approach—harvesting at peak “crunchy” seed ripeness, unhurried fermentations, and mandatory two-year bottle aging—yields wines of profound aromatic depth and drinkability. Rooted in nature’s rhythm, they craft singular Piedmontese expressions that defy convention.
