Margherita Otto is an artisan estate in Monforte d'Alba founded in 2015, named for the founder's grandmother. Its Langhe Nebbiolo benefits from the same meticulous sourcing as its Barolo: the 2023 is crafted with a significant portion of declassified Barolo fruit.

In this dry, warm vintage the wine delivers extra depth for its category: bramble berry, violet and plum on the nose, developing a potpourri bouquet that is hard to resist. Serve with a slight chill to lift the florals — a generous companion to charcuterie, roast pork or mushroom dishes.

Margherita Otto, Monforte d'Alba

Alan Manley, a New York native, became enamored with the Piemonte region of Italy on his first visit. After decades working with renowned producers like Maria Teresa Mascarello and Luciano Sandrone, he launched his own winery, Azienda Agricola Margherita Otto, by leasing exceptional vineyards. With meticulous attention to detail, Manley produces only two wines: a Barolo Classico and a Langhe Nebbiolo. He sells the fruit from his Barbaresco vineyards to focus on his Barolo, with his 2020 vintage showcasing a blend from four unique vineyard sites across three Barolo communes, each adding distinct character to this elegant wine.
