Marisa Bacher, Monforte d'Alba

Marisa Bacher, an Alto Piemonte native, refined her craft over eight years at Barolo’s Cascina Fontana under Mario Fontana. In 2020, she assumed stewardship of his former 1ha vineyard—a remote Monforte hilltop (organic, unpaved access)—defying trends with terroir-transparent Dolcetto and Barbera. Her debut Rosso Bacher (2020, 200 bottles), a Dolcetto-Barbera blend, ferments in cement and ages in steel/fiberglass. The 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo, her first estate release, has swiftly become a local favorite—proof of her Piedmontese artistry.
