Montetino (Società Agricola Montetino) is a pioneering micro-estate established by Marco Carone and Benedetta Nicomede on the dramatic Fucino plain in Celano, Abruzzo. Farmed organically at 700+ meters elevation beneath the Velino–Sirente mountain range, Montetino works according to nature's calendar, celebrating Abruzzo's indigenous grape heritage through honest, low-intervention winemaking.

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo "Le Marie" 2024 comes from old-vine Montepulciano parcels planted in limestone-clay soils. Gentle maceration and spontaneous fermentation on native yeasts yield a red that trades heavy extraction for bright mountain elegance, vivid fruit purity, and effortless drinkability.

Tasting Profile: Deep ruby-purple hue. Vibrant nose filled with ripe dark red cherries, wild blackberries, red plums, crushed violets, and subtle hints of black pepper and Mediterranean herbs. Smooth and supple on the palate, balancing juicy fruit weight with silky, approachable tannins and crisp natural acidity.

Serve slightly cool (14–16°C). A food-friendly red that pairs perfectly with Abruzzese arrosticini (lamb skewers), pasta with rich meat ragù, wood-fired pizza, or roasted pork loin.
