Piero Busso is a reference-point family estate in Neive, Barbaresco, founded in 1948. Driven today by Piero, his wife Lucia, and children Pierguido and Emanuela, the Busso family practices strict organic farming and low-intervention cellar work—using wild yeast fermentations, gentle cap management, and aging in large casks—to produce Barbarescos of intense purity, structural power, and site expression.

Barbaresco Albesani Vigna Borgese 2019 comes from Busso's prized single-parcel Vigna Borgese inside the famed Albesani cru in Neive. Grown on steep marl and limestone soils, the stellar 2019 vintage yielded a Barbaresco of authoritative structure, dark fruit concentration, and timeless aging capacity.

Tasting Profile: Deep garnet red. Complex, alluring aromas of dark red cherry, dried rose petals, licorice, eucalyptus, tar, and crushed rock. Rich, structured, and expansive on the palate, combining dense red plum fruit with noble fine-grained tannins and a long, savory mineral finish.

Decant 1 hour before serving at 16–18°C. Outstanding pairing for slow-braised beef short ribs, roasted venison, agnolotti del plin, or aged pecorino.

Piero Busso, Barbaresco

Pierguido Busso doesn’t seek the spotlight, but his wines have a way of finding it—turning heads among Piedmont’s biggest names with Barbarescos that feel both effortlessly elegant and deeply precise. You can taste his quiet obsession with great wine in every bottle, drawing on years of studying the greats of Burgundy and Champagne, all rooted in old vines from Neive and Treiso that give his fruit a voice of its own.
