Brothers Roberto and Mauro Prandi carry forward their mother Rosanna Sandri's legacy in the heart of Barbaresco, blending generations of vineyard knowledge with formal enological training. Their commitment to sustainability, biodiversity, and minimal intervention honors the family's deep roots in Piedmont's most celebrated terroir.

Vineyard & Winemaking: The Damasco cru sits in Treiso at 450m altitude with east-south-east exposure, planted on sandy, calcareous soil rich in marls and sandstone. 25-year-old vines are meticulously thinned twice during the growing season—yielding no more than 1kg of fruit per vine—then crushed and fermented in large oak tanks. Extended maceration of 40-45 days follows fermentation, with 18-24 months aging in large oak barrels to preserve the wine's elegance and structure.

Tasting Profile: Classic Barbaresco expression with refined tannins, vibrant red fruit, floral aromatics, and mineral complexity. Balanced acidity (pH 3.6, TA 5.9) ensures both immediate approachability and long-term aging potential.

A rare expression from a family estate—only 1,000 bottles produced.

Rosanna Sandri, Treiso, Barbaresco

In Piedmont’s understated Treiso hills, the Sandri family has quietly perfected their craft since the 1950s—while neighboring Barolo grapes command €5/kg, Barbaresco remains overlooked at just €3.5. Yet Rosanna, Franco, and sons Mauro and Roberto defy convention.

With devotion to organic farming (no herbicides, wild yeasts, concrete fermentation), they nurture 6 hectares into profound Nebbiolo, vibrant Freisa, and elegant Arneis. “Wine is passion, not product,” they insist—a philosophy that weaves tradition into every bottle.
