Sagona is a small, artisan winery in the heart of Tuscany, where tradition meets meticulous vineyard work. This Trebbiano comes from two exceptional parcels: the 90-year-old vines of Le Sanzioni and the 50-year-old vines of La Collina, planted at elevations ranging from 300 to 500 meters. The dramatic altitude difference brings complexity and tension to this ancient Tuscan variety.

Winemaking: Each parcel is harvested separately based on ripeness, then fermented in cement tanks with 5–7 days of skin maceration—a rare technique for white wine that adds structure and depth. After fermentation, the wines are blended and aged for 18 months in old barriques on the lees, followed by 6 months of bottle aging before release.

Tasting Profile: Expect a textured, golden-hued white with notes of dried herbs, stone fruit, and a saline minerality. The extended maceration and lees aging deliver a wine with grip, complexity, and remarkable aging potential—far beyond typical Trebbiano.

For collectors and natural wine enthusiasts seeking serious, age-worthy whites from Tuscany.

Sagona, Arezzo

Sagona, a remote organic farm in Pratomagno (500m), crafts mountain Tuscan wines from native varieties like Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera. Daniele Corrotti tends 4 hectares of small plots amid olive groves and stone walls. Their standout Trebbiano Toscano—racy, reductive—joins mineral Sangiovese, echoing rugged terroir of sand, clay, and rock. A hidden gem where tradition meets wild elegance.
