Vaira Aurelj is an artisanal micro-estate based in La Morra, renowned for expressive natural wines crafted with minimal intervention, wild yeast fermentations, and deep respect for Piedmontese terroir.

Controcorrente 2023 ("Against the Current") is the estate's rebellious and joyful Langhe red cuvée. Hand-harvested from estate parcels in La Morra, it undergoes spontaneous fermentation on native yeasts with zero added sulfur, remaining unfined and unfiltered to showcase pure fruit energy.

Tasting Profile: Radiant garnet hue. Inviting aromas of crushed sour cherry, wild raspberry, dried herbs, graphite, and white pepper. Light-to-medium bodied on the palate, delivering vibrant natural acidity, crunchy fruit purity, fine tannins, and a refreshing, saline-inflected finish.

Presented in generous 1.5L magnum format—ideal for sharing at natural wine gatherings, dinner parties, and festive celebrations. Serve chilled at 12–14°C alongside salumi, antipasti, wood-fired pizza, or grilled duck.
