Vaira Aurelj is a celebrated artisanal micro-producer in La Morra, known for uncompromising low-intervention winemaking and vibrant expressions of Piedmont's indigenous grape varieties.

Fuori Zona "FZ" 2022 ("Out of Zone") showcases 100% Nebbiolo from estate vineyards positioned just outside the Barolo boundary. Crafted with indigenous yeast fermentations in open vats and aged in neutral oak and stainless steel, it delivers classic La Morra Nebbiolo elegance in a remarkably accessible format.

Tasting Profile: Deep translucent garnet. Highly aromatic with notes of wild cherry, rose petals, blood orange, crushed gravel, and delicate spice. Smooth, supple, and mouth-filling on the palate, supported by fine-grained tannins, vibrant natural acidity, and an energetic, persistent finish.

Available in a rare 3.0L double magnum (Jeroboam) bottling—an impressive centerpiece for special occasions, banquets, and natural wine enthusiasts. Serve at 16–18°C with slow-roasted pork shoulder, braised meats, or aged cheeses.

Vaira Aurelj, Vergne

Brothers Francesco and Giacomo are rewriting Barolo's rules at their Vergne estate. With biodynamic vineyards and minimalist winemaking, they craft wines that buzz with energy. Their "FZ" (Fuori Zona) Nebbiolo challenges expectations, while the rare Controcorrente – made from Nebbiolo rosé – is pure liquid rebellion. The 2020 Barolo Fossati (their first vintage!) already shows cult-worthy depth. For drinkers who crave authenticity with a twist, Vaira Aurelj delivers. Low-intervention, high-expression wines from Barolo's wild west.
